Section 2: Stillness (continued)
A way to remember and begin to live from our divine source, which expresses itself as our essence, is to find the stillness within. This stillness is our true being, what we really are but have lost touch with.
In this stillness, we are paradoxically no-thing and everything. This is because, in our still center, we are beyond form. Yet through this formless state, we can create all forms, together with all the experiences form is capable of having.
Since stillness is the field out of which creativity springs forth, if we are to birth a higher consciousness, it must be birthed out of stillness.
Stillness also leads to right action – action that is appropriate for a situation. Have you ever sat in stillness on a bench and just sat and sat until suddenly the body got up and moved again?
Stillness is everywhere. However, we will not come to this realization without first finding it within ourselves.
Opportunity for Self-inquiry and Sharing:
A. How did you first become aware of stillness? Can you recall an incident when you clearly felt this deeper, formless state?
B. Can you recall a moment when creativity sprang from stillness in your life? What about positive, appropriate action?
C. Was there a qualitative difference between creativity that came from stillness, and the usual way you create? How are the two different? What about an action that came out of or was prompted by stillness?
